David Williams plays well below handicap to take Tuross Vets honours


Despite the threat of light showers during the morning an excellent field of 69 players, including six visitors from St Georges Basin, registered for this mornings Single Stableford event. Winner on the day with a fine score of 25 points was David Williams, who beat home Neil Mather, Blaise Madden and Steve Gardner all with 24. Balls this week went to Don Russell and Ken Brown on 23, Ian Manton and Steve Collins with 22, Barry Hoban, Allen Lee and Richard Wharton on 21, Julie Barningham, Leonie Snodgrass, Gail Rogers, Des Jackson, Mike Birks and Paul Pereira on 20, and finally Robert McKirdy, Greg Thornton, Paul Green, Annette Manton, Teri Swanbury, Steve Swanbury, Peter McRae and Sandra Hanlon all with 19. The Bradman award was taken out by the Captain Ian Miller on his return to competition golf.
