Damage to Lifeguard tower - Surf Beach

Police are requesting assistance from the public for any information about damage to a lifeguard tower at Surf Beach. Sometime between the hours of 5pm Sunday and 9am Monday 11/1/21 unknown person/s have dragged the tower onto the beach, removed a wooden footing which they set alight and used as fire wood in a small fire on the beach. The metal frame was also bent out of shape and damaged.

The tower is used by Lifeguards to keep a look out ensuring our beach-goers are safe. Luckily once this tower was retrieved, it was still able to be used during a very busy beach day.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Batemans Bay police on 44720099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote E77991734
