Dalmeny /Narooma Bushwalkers news Nov 12th

The weather gods were kind to us this week with the Club managing to squeeze in the two walks planned. Firstly, Margaret Moran led us into the Nargal Lake area, north of Corunna Lake. This is an area we visit regularly but she managed to find some new tracks and spots some of us hadn't visited for a while. Briefly, we left Corunna Point and walked north up the beach for a short distance and then went inland near Freshwater Lake, along some tracks nearer the Highway and then made our way back to Nargal Lake via the bush. After a small break and photo stop we made our way north to Bolgola Headland where we tucked in out of the strong wind and had some lunch. It was a good low tide then, so we beach walked back to the Point where our cars were parked. It is a lovely spot to walk, close to home and with some beautiful coastal vegetation. Margaret was thanked by the walkers for this 11 kilometre walk.

Saturday saw 8 of us head south of Bermagui for a walk led by Gail Drury, in the Cuttagee/Barragga Bay area. It was a windy but quite warm morning and we managed to complete this walk which was planned for a couple of weeks ago but cancelled due to the weather. It is a coastal walk with Gail showing us tracks onto headlands and beaches that many of us didn't know existed. The beaches are secluded and headlands dramatic with great views. We are lucky to have club members that know this area well and can show us northerners some of these local highlights. We returned to where we parked the cars, near Cuttagee Bridge by approximately 1.30pm, where Gail was thanked for her informative 10 klm walk which we all enjoyed. David Maidment
