BORANG LAKE WALK ON PRIVATE PROPERTY

Sixteen walkers attended last Thursdays walk. We travelled to Horse Island Road where we parked our cars and walked on to Sally Darts property boardering Borang Lake, a part of the Tuross System. It was a fairly hot morning so we enjoyed a break on the waters edge in the shade. Tuross Lake is an interesting area with many quite large water bodies making up the large delta of the Tuross River before it empties into the ocean. Much of it is bounded by private properties making land access difficult, so this was a great chance to see this part of the Lake. We strolled around the shoreline, walking amongst the sheoaks towards where the Lake empties into the main river. Wildlife like Sea Eagles,Lyrebirds, and many other birds were sighted before we made our way back to the cars along Horse Island Road. We traveled to Potato Point to have lunch in the shade and enjoy the cool seabreeze. Steve Deck thanked Marg Moran for putting the walk on at short notice, in an area we had not visited before.

Walkers: Maggie Finch, David Maidment,Sheryl Cooper,Gail Drury,Jan Thomas,Marg.Moran,Jo Jean-Mariet,Margaret Lynch,Sharon Pearson,Steve Deck,Heather Ferguson,Donna Hendry,Josie McNamara,David Mason,Pat Hellsing,Cindy Chipchase
