PARADISE POINT A SPECIAL PROPERTY ON THE WAGONGA INLET
Heather Ferguson invited the Bushwalkers for a walk around her property. We have done this walk before but the property is for sale so it could be the last walk in this unique area.
Nineteen members, which is a great role up, started the walk down towards the estuary and made our way around the upper boundary of the property. Through a beautiful stand of spotted gums and around a small creek running into Freshwater Bay.
After morning tea at Heathers home, the group then split with some people walking around the estuary on flatter ground and the others taking off up to a steep rocky knoll with views towards Narooma, the ocean, westward up the river and beyond then also into the rainforest canopy below us.
Lovely small, flowering orchids were found clinging to the rocky outcrop, struggling in the dry conditions. We then walked down to the rainforest next to the estuary which had very large old eucalypts amongst the rainforest species shading the ground.
We made our way back to the other walkers around the foreshore and back to the jetty where we had lunch. Heather was thanked by the group for enabling us to do this walk again.
