Dalmeny Narooma Bushwalkers news

Mimosa Rocks N.P.- Bunga Beach South Only one walk was held this week due to the weather. It was held last Thursday with 15 walkers headed down south to walk in this area. A lot of rain had fallen in this location and more was on it's way so we were lucky to get this walk in. The creeks were still running and much of the sand on the beaches had been washed out to sea. (see photo's below)  Davey McMillian the walk leader, had to change the walk, as the track was flooded closer to Aragunnu. We went as far as the Bunga Saddle, then returned to the Beach and walked up to Goalen Head for lunch. This whole area wasn't burnt in the summer fires and is a refuge for our wildlife. Large mobs of grey kangaroos can be seen, monitor lizards, sea eagles and other raptors. Extensive ocean vista's north toward Bermagui and south onto Wapengo make it's remote location special. We have targeted this area for a couple of walks this spring to show our walkers this beauty and to give others in the community an idea of what it has to offer and the fact you do not have to travel far and spend many dollars to have wonderful outdoor experience. Steve thanked Davey for leading this 8 klm walk, in an area he has extensively rambled over and knows many of its "nooks and crannies".
