Nine walkers gathered at the Dalmeny meeting point this Saturday to open the season. Thursday's walk was cancelled due to the wonderful rainfall we had and how could we complain. From drought, dust, smoke, fires and ash of the summer to a beautiful early autumn break that has commenced regenerating the land we are blessed. The Program for the Autumn is set with generally two walks a week. (Thursday and Saturday) The planned walks are in both unburnt and burnt areas as many members expressed an interest seeing damaged areas and there renewal.

Saturdays walk lead by Maggie Finch concentrated behind Dalmeny between the Highway and the Ocean. Eight klms was covered through the many tracks in this area, with the bush and trees being  freshened up by the rain. It truely was a lovely early morning autumn day. This area has some really large misshapened gum trees which are interesting. Two new members came along ( Colin Lins and Lyn Fraser) which was great and Maggie was thanked at the end of the walk for putting on another walk close to home bu very interesting, showing you don't have to travel far in this area to put on a good walk.
