Council to vote on increased rates and fees and charges

At the Council meeting of June 28th 2022 the councillors will be asked to vote on adopting the Delivery Program 2022-26 and Operational Plan 2022-23, incorporating the budget, Fees and Charges, Revenue Policy and the making of the general rate and water, sewer, waste, stormwater and liquid trade waste charges. The general rate income will increase by 1.7% which is made up of IPART’s rate peg amount of 0.7% plus the population growth factor of 1% for 2022-23. The Environmental Levy will increase by 1.7% which is made up of IPART’s rate peg amount of 0.7% plus the population growth factor of 1% for 2022-23. The Minister for Local Government has determined the maximum rate of interest that may be charged on overdue rates and charges for 2022-23 will be 6.0% Waste collection charges will increase by 1.7%. Stormwater charges will remain the same as 2021-22 The water consumption charge will increase by 2.63% to maintain best practice pricing. The water access charge will increase by 2.86%. The sewer access charge will increase by 1.98%. Liquid trade waste compliant discharge will increase by 3.12%. The annual fee will increase by 1.85%. Council's 2022-23 Fees and Charges will also be adopted.
