The first Council meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday 9 February. Currently held on video platform Zoom, Council meetings are attended by the Mayor, elected Councillors, the General Manager and Council's executive staff. The Office of Local Government has advised (in their Circular 20-28 Rules on attendance at council and committee meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic as of 1 July 2020) that: - Councillors and council staff may attend council and committee meetings in person. However, councils must continue to allow councillors and staff to attend and participate in meetings by audio visual links where it is reasonably practicable to do so. Members of the public are permitted to attend meetings, however, councils must ensure the size of the venue is sufficient to provide 4 square metres of space for each person. Where councils exclude members of the public from meetings, they must livestream their meetings using audio-visual links. You can tune in and watch the Tuesday 9 February meeting on Council's webcast service. Meetings start at 11am.
The Public Forum, in which members of the public can present to Councillors about matters on the meeting's agenda, starts at 9.30am. This is NOT live streamed so if you want to watch it you will need to register your interest (ph 44741000) so that a Zoom invitation can be sent to attend as a guest. Meeting agendas are available on Councils website on the Wednesday prior to each Council meeting.

14 December 2021 Want to present to Council on an issue the isn't on the Agenda ? Council holds a public access session once per month, prior to the commencement of briefing sessions, for members of the public to raise any Council related issues with Councillors, which have not been previously determined by Council. You can speak uninterrupted for seven minutes to then be asked questions (if there are any) by Councillors. You are required to provide your written submission by noon of the previous day so that Councillors can read it and research and prepare.
The public access session commences at 9.15am unless there are no speakers registered. These will also be on ZOOM for the time being and if you wish to only watch you can register to be a guest by phoning 44741000 the day before.
