So it’s time to go hard and fast. This afternoon at 5pm we will be moving the region into a 7 day lockdown. This is going to cause our community significant disruption and I would ask everybody to follow the clear instructions from NSW Health, which will be announced shortly. Schools will be impacted.
Please do not think you are above these orders because that’s how the virus spreads and spreads fast.
I can say as of right now we still do not have any positive cases on the coast but the cold hard reality is that will change. Please understand that our local nurses, doctors, police and essential workers deserve our praise and gratitude. They are at risk to keep us all safe and alive.
I would ask everybody to use their computers and phones to stay in contact with each other and keep morale high, particularly amongst our young people.
This is going to be tough but I know how resilient our community is.
