The land owner of the new Eurobodalla Hospital site has asked Andrew Constance "can you please explain to me as the land owner why the Health Department insisted on taking almost 22 hectares of our farm (including flood plain and grazing land) when they only need at most 17, and they have refused to negotiate a settlement."
"They have now forcibly acquired the land and we have no compensation.
"I asked Minister Hazzard (your close friend) at the town meeting in Moruya and he refused to answer me. Why do you treat the local people so badly? We have always supported a level 4 hospital on this site, and still do. Just bully boy tactics when you are dealing with us. From this experience I understand why the average person is so cynical about politicians and the Liberals. This could have been a great experience - we are so let down by you and Brad."
The land for the new level 4 regional hospital at Moruya has been officially acquired by the NSW Liberal Government.
The community has been tenacious in their advocacy working tirelessly to secure the $260 million through the Expenditure Review Committee to deliver a level 4 Hospital.
