Community Sing Novemberr 24th in Moruya

After being sacked from piano lessons at the age of 6 for making up her own songs Merrilyn Simmons has been composing, playing and encouraging others to find their own musical voice ever since.

She has produced 2 of her own albums of original songs in addition to recordings of community choirs and song writing projects in schools, community centres and homelessness services.

Merrilyn believes we are all intrinsically musical and has dedicated the last 20 years facilitating sessions and working with groups of all ages and abilities to sing for fun.

She currently leads the Joybelles in Braidwood who meet weekly just to sing and occasionally perform. The emphasis is on singing in the moment and connecting with each other without fear to create a beautiful sound.

Songs are taught by ear and from memory and include gospel, world and folk music.

She is really looking forward to inviting all who love the idea of singing together to join us on November 24th for a joyful big sing.
