Club Malua Womens Bowls

There were 20 Social Bowlers on the green bowling in two games of Triples and two of Pairs on a lovely sunny day, so close to Winter. Winners, Jean Beeley and Ellie Crompton.

Runners-up, Lauraine Taylor, Raija Johnston and Paula Hancock.

Other winning teams, Julie Quinliven and Sonia Frey. Wendy Geary and Anna Stewart.

Lucky number winners, Julie Quinliven, Connie Anderson and Lynn Gowans.

Round 1 and 2 of Major/Minors Pairs Championship was also played.

Round1, Gayl Vidgen and Kim Giannasca defeated Judy Armstrong and Noleen Taylor. Joan Fitzroy and Jenny Blyth defeated Bev McKague and Olga Geshwend. Helen Rees and Sue Beavan defeated Gloria Harper and Yvonne Huddleston. Judy Davis and Gay Biggs defeated Pat Weekes and Nancy White.

Round 2, Judy Davis and Gay Biggs defeated Helen Rees and Sue Beavan. Gayl Vidgen and Kim Giannasca defeated Joan Fitzroy and Jenny Blyth.

Final will be played on Thursday at 9.30am so come along and watch a great game between Judy Davis and Gay Biggs, Gayl Vidgen and Kim Giannasca.

Last week the annual Nader Shield was contested between district Clubs.

Well done to Club Tomakin who took out the Shield again, with Club Malua second. Congratulations to Club Malua members Karen Signor who won the Singles, Olga Geshwend, Yvonne Huddleston and Noleen Taylor who won the Triples. Thank you to Selector Pat Bill for sending me all the results, very much appreciated.
