Club Malua Women’s Bowls Report

.President Sue Beavan welcomed 40 ladies on a beautiful warm sunny day. Great to see Lisa back on the green after five months travelling .

Welcome to new bowler Di MacPherson also known as “ Mac”, as well as visitor Glenice Campbell from Rutherglen Bowling Club.

District Chair of Match Yvonne Huddleston presented badges to Sonia Frey and Margaret Bridges who won Senior Pairs Competition which was played last week. Well done to all Club Malua teams who took part in this event with some very good results.

Sue spoke about some changes in our Constitution, that Pennants will start in February and the unification of our Men’s and Women’s Club.

Bowls Organizer David Thomas welcomed everyone before calling cards for six Triples and one Pairs game.

Winners on Rink 2, Lynn Gowans, Anna Stewart and Paula Hancock.

Runners-up Rink 5, Gloria Harper, Sonia Frey and Sue Morgan.

Lucky Losers Rink 4, Robyn Butcher, Connie Anderson and Gayl Vidgen.

Other winning teams, A very close game between Raija Johnston and Michelle Weekes 24 against Joan Rimmer and Pat Bill 23. Bev McKague, Colleen Ashby and Yvonne Huddleston. Carmel Price, Fran Lucas and Rae Fayle. Judy Davis , Wendy Geary and Nancy White.

Money club winners on 13, Margaret Bridges, 19, Noleen Taylor. Lucky $10 winners, Yvonne Huddleston and Raija Johnston.

Birthday greetings to Raija Johnston and Nancy White. Congratulations to Men’s Minor Singles winner Kayne Carmichael 25, defeating George Metsche 23.
