Club Malua Women's Bowls report


This week the 50 women bowlers present held a " Pink Day " to raise money for Breast Cancer. It was fantastic to see everyone on the green dressed in pink Thanks to all those who made pink cup cakes to sell also for donations towards our Monster Raffle. Over $500 was taken on Raffle and $259 on sale of cup cakes , Club Cabra will match this amount so a fabulous effort from everyone.

Before going out onto green a minute silence was held in memory of Ron Beeley, husband of friend and fellow bowler Jean, our thoughts are with you.

Winners on Rink 5, Carmel Price, Janet McKay, Jan Shalders and Pat Bill. Runners-up, Rink 7, June Ryan, Judy Davis, Carol Harris and Paula Hancock. Other winning teams, Connie

Gayl Vidgen and Lyn Hardy. Robyn Butcher, Gay Biggs and Noleen Taylor. Joan

Rimmer, Ellie Crompton, Bess Holloway and Sue Morgan. Drawn match of 12 all between, Pat Biddolph, Sonia Frey, Yvonne Huddleston and Rosie Rayner, June Williams and Olga Geshwend. President Sue Beavan presented Olga Geshwend with her Certificate as winner of Club Singles between herself and Gay Biggs which was played last Friday. Lucky Draw,40, Connie Anderson, 44, Sue Morgan. Money Club , Lyn Hardy and Noleen Taylor. Club Manager Manuela and staff selected " Best Dressed " which was won by Olga in her candy striped pyjamas. Birthday wishes to Gayl Vidgen, Kim Giannasca, Jenny Blyth, Janet McKay and David Thomas. Special thanks to David, Manuela , Belinda and Sharna for a delicious lunch, also for all the wonderful pink decorations , loved all the pink balloons.
