Club Malua Stingrays Bowls Report

Firstly, congratulations to Carol Dutkiewicz and Sue Beavan who won the District Senior Pairs on Monday in Narooma, now advance to State Finals in Tamworth. Club Pairs Final was held on Tuesday, a very close contest between two great teams, the victors were Paula Hancock and Sue Beavan 12, who won on the last end against very worthy opponents Robyn Butcher and Rae Fayle 11, fantastic game ladies , thanks to Umpire Carol Dutkiewicz.

Joan Fitzroy and Jean Beeley had a Draw with Gloria Harper and Gwen Ware. Birthday wishes to Karen Signor, Nancy White and Raija Johnston all away. Wednesday Club Malua Women's Bowls AGM was held. President Sue Beavan presented Patron Dorothy Stewart her Life Member badge. President Sue Beavan, Vice- Presidents Carol Dutkiewicz and Kim Giannasca, Secretary, Pat Weekes were all elected unopposed. Selection committee was elected by vote, Jenny Blyth, Gayl Vidgen, Pat Bill, Julie Lewis and Robyn Butcher, Congratulations to these ladies. Social committee also by vote, Rae Fayle, Gay Biggs, Helen Rees, Marj O'Neill and Connie Anderson , well done ladies to be elected to a hard working committee. Club Delegate , Sue Beavan, Operational Committee, Fran Lucas, Shirley Edwards and Paula Hancock. Communications Officer , Tricia Wheeler. Sue thanked all those who had volunteered for committee positions but were unsuccessful, it is wonderful to have so many ladies prepared to put their names forward where needed. Sue also thanked Yvonne Huddleston and Fran Lucas for the great job they had done in Match which we don't have anymore as we now have a Bowls Organiser in David Thomas. Special congratulations to Bess Holloway who has been President, also on bowls committees for 17 years.
