Clearing up your Christmas clutter

Council offers a quick pointer on how to get rid of Christmas Day packaging and rubbish:

  • For recycling (yellow bin) - wrapping paper, tissue paper, moulded hard plastic packaging. If you've got more than fits in your yellow bin, excess can be dropped in at the tips for free.

  • For landfill (red bin) - plastic Christmas decorations, tinsel, foil (or save for kids' arts project or to use again next Christmas), broken plastic toys

  • Soft plastics can be bagged and taken to participating supermarkets for recycling.

  • Used batteries can be taken to the tips or recycling stations at the libraries and Council's administration building in Moruya.

For more complex items be sure to check out our comprehensive waste and recycling guide.
