Changed traffic conditions on the Kings Highway at Nelligen

Motorists and residents are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week on the Kings Highway at Nelligen.

All highway traffic between Old Nelligen Road and the existing Nelligen Bridge will shift west from Wednesday 9 June, weather permitting.

This will create a new work area on the eastern side for the Nelligen Bridge replacement project, where work will be carried out on the new road alignment.

Work to prepare for the traffic switch will involve resurfacing, line marking and installing temporary traffic barriers.

This work will be carried out during standard construction hours between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturday, weather permitting.

There will be temporary traffic changes and reduced speed limits implemented for the safety of workers and road users.

The Kings Highway speed limit will be reduced to 40 km/h near work areas, with the rest of the project area reduced to 60 km/h.

One lane of the Kings Highway will be closed during some of this work under stop/slow traffic control, with no lane closures on Saturday.

Motorists are advised to allow five minutes additional travel time, drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
