Changed traffic conditions on Princes Highway in school holidays

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Princes Highway during the Easter long weekend and NSW school holiday period from tonight.

Work on many projects along the Princes Highway will stop or be reduced over the school holiday period to deliver smoother journeys over the busy period. Batemans Bay Bridge replacement

Two lanes of the new Batemans Bay Bridge are open to traffic. There will be a reduction in speed to 60 km/h on the Princes Highway heading south into Batemans Bay about two kilometres north of the Kings Highway and Princes Highway intersection. There will be a reduction in speed to 60 km/h on the Kings Highway between Brightview Road and the Princes Highway intersection. These changes will be in place until Monday 19 April.

Additional traffic control will also be installed in various areas to ease congestion and improve road safety.

FURTHER NORTH

Nowra Bridge project

There will be a work shut down over the Easter Long Weekend from 6pm Thursday 1 until 7am Tuesday 6 April. Night work will continue from Tuesday 6 to Friday 30 April, weather permitting. Night work will be carried out Sunday to Thursday between 6pm and 7am.

Albion Park Rail bypass

There will be a work shut down over the Easter Long Weekend from 6pm Thursday 1 until 7am Tuesday 6 April. Night work will continue from Thursday 1 to Friday 30 April outside the Easter shut down between 7pm and 7am, weather permitting.

Berry to Bomaderry upgrade

There will be a work shut down over the Easter Long Weekend from 6pm Thursday 1 until 7am Tuesday 6 April. Night work will continue from Tuesday 6 to Wednesday 7 April, weather permitting.

Princes Highway and Jervis Bay Road intersection

The speed limit around the Princes Highway and Jervis Bay Road intersection will be 80 km/h for southbound motorists and may be reduced to 60 km/h during peak times until Sunday 18 April.

Traffic control staff will be in the on location on the following dates to control the flow of traffic and ease congestion:

· Thursday 1 to Monday 5 April

· Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April

· Friday 16 to Sunday 18 April

Princes Highway and Wason Street intersection in Milton

Traffic control staff will be onsite between 9am and 3pm on the dates listed below to coordinate pedestrians crossing the highway to maintain traffic flow:

· Friday 2 to Monday 5 April

· Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 April

· Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 April

These changes are planned to give visitors and locals a safer and smoother journey.

Increased traffic volumes are expected on the Princes Highway during the school holiday period.

Road users are encouraged to plan ahead and visit livetraffic.com or call 132 701 for the latest traffic updates.

Motorists are advised to be vigilant of roadside workers, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs.
