Change your clocks and check your smoke alarm this Sunday

Clocks are turned back one hour at 3am on April 5, Daylight Saving Time (DST).

In New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT, the time will shift backward an hour from 3am to 2am. For most things connected to the internet this will be automatic. It might take longer to reprogram the cat that will want its food one hour earlier. It is also a good time to check your smoke alarms are working. Fire NSW advise that all smoke alarms should be checked at least once a month and vacuumed once every six months as it helps to keep your smoke alarm free of particles to help reduce false alarms and ensure smoke can easily reach the internal sensor. If your smoke alarm is older than 10 years the alarm should be replaced with a new 10 year battery smoke alarm.
