Cate Faehrmann to visit zombie developments in the South East Fri 15th July

MLC Cate Faehrmann, representing the Greens on the NSW Legislative Council will be visiting the South Coast on Friday as part of her fact finding mission looking at developments that are set to impact on the local environment by way of habitat removal. Ms Faehrmann is currently on a Fact Finding tour to expose some of the worst developments up and down the NSW coast, some of which, like Dalmeny, are set to heavily impact local communities whilst bulldozing critical habitat for threatened species. MLC Cate Faehrmann will begin her South East visit on Friday looking at the controversial Dalmeny Land Release

This Friday 15/7/22

8 am: Rotary Park Dalmeny opposite IGA - Mask wearing is encouraged.

8 30 am: Move to the proposed development site The Dalmeny Matters group will be present along with Eurobodalla Councillors to advise of the actions to date and the ongoing concerns the development will pose to local habitat and to the sedimentation of Mummaga Lake that has not been recognised in Council's latest Management Plan for the estuary.

Meet at the Dalmeny Playground opposite IGA for your morning coffee. From there we will head up to show Cate the proposed development site, at about 8 30 am.

The community is invited to come, listen and show support for the campaign to protect this land. The NSW Greens MLC will then travel south to Tura Beach to speak to local community members who are concerned about the proposed development which would see a huge swathe of old growth forest between Mirador and Tura cleared.

Ms Feahrman will be arriving at 10:30am at the top of Casuarina Close in Tura Beach. We recommend that you find public parking either at Tura Woolworths or at the Tura Beach Centre and make your way to the meeting. Mask wearing is encouraged.

The Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast say "This is a real opportunity to put pressure on the developer and council. Please come along, invite your friends, and make a difference".
