Cancer Care Coordinator funding

The Cancer Care Coordinator position in Moruya is a front-line position funded by the Cancer Institute NSW under a current, co-signed funding agreement.

An extension of the position to be funded by the Oncology Building Fund Committee to the tune of $25,000 will fund an additional 0.2 FTE for this position to 30 June 2022 and will provide an additional day per week to cover the increasing cancer patient caseload in the Eurobodalla for the remainder of the current financial year.

The Eurobodalla region in particular is expected to experience significant growth in residents aged over 60 years. Over the 2020 to 2030 period, Southern NSW is anticipating a three-fold increase in demand for cancer services, including demand for the valuable cancer care coordination service in Eurobodalla.
