Council have voted to spend $10,000 for a social media campaign to encourage Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne workers to relocate to Eurobodalla. Clr Lindsay Brown specifically identified those who currently are employed in metropolitan areas who are now working at home would be the ones that the campaign would target encouraging them to relocate to the Eurobodalla and bring their salaries with them to boost the local economy via cafes, restaurants and shops. Councillor Brown made reference to support his motion that he had been told by a local real-estate agent that five properties had been recently sold. Based on this he developed the idea to use video and social media to entice more metropolitan workers. Council staff will now look to finding a consultant to do the advertising campaign targeting metropolitan workers aged 30 to 45 who are employed in well paid permanent city based jobs that will now allow them to work remotely from home taking advantage of the NBN internet that services many areas within the Eurobodalla.
