The first run in the winter, provided excellent conditions for running. As a result, there we 12 personal best times.
In the 2 kilometres PBs were recorded by Mitchell Beby, Pearl Eaton, Astrid Barrington, Edwina Whitelaw, Eve Popelier Knight, Clare Knight, Jasmine and Naomi Camilleri.
In the 3.5 kilometres Tino Lopresti and Fiona Whitelaw did PBs.
In the 5 kilometres Dave Bain, Riley Beby and Jenny Taylor improved.
The star of the night was Dave Bain (photo below), who recently competed in the 50-kilometre Ultra Trail run in the Blue Mountains. He finished in an excellent time of 6 hours and 22 minutes coming in at 142nd place out of field of 1830 competitors. The event attracted runners from all round Australia and some international competitors.
Next weekend in the Kiama Coastal Classic Matt and Michael Lambert, Laura and Mark Evans, Lisa Robbins and Gary Ashton will be running the half marathon over 21 kilometres and Bernie Lambert will run the 12 kilometres. We look forward to some excellent results.
