Perfect conditions for running of the Broulee stakes over 2, 3 & 4 kilometres. The event is extremely popular on the running calendar and attracted a strong field of participants. The handicapper was tough on those running with dogs and prams.
Nevertheless, the outstanding competitor was Katharina Birks pushing a pram with twins Tommy and Theo on board to record a personal best time. Others to impress the judges with PBs were Andrew Greenway, Bernie Lambert, and John Lightfoot in the 3 kilometres.
Over the longer course of 4 kilometres the stewards were considering a drug test on the improved form of Ken Hogg and John Hicks. We congratulate Caitlin Seidel on earning her 30 run shirt.
Some of the Broulee Runners will be taking on events in Canberra, Sydney, and Huskisson next weekend. These events cover distances from 10, 21 and 50 kilometres. We look forward to hearing of the results of these athletes and we are confident they will do the Eurobodalla district proud.
