Broulee Beach closed due to sewer spill

ABC South East NSW reports: Eurobodalla Council has closed Broulee Beach (Feb 3rd 2021) as a precaution following a sewage spill on Monday.

A spokesperson said the sewer overflow from a sewer manhole adjacent to 38 Grant Street, Broulee was caused by a choke.

“As a result of the overflow, effluent entered a storm water drain that discharges at Bengello Beach,” the spokesperson said.

“While our beach water testing showed good results, samples taken from the storm water drain were high, so we closed Broulee Beach as a precaution while council awaits further results." Stay up to date on the closure by visiting the Council Website or their Facebook Page.
