Body of man, boat washed ashore near Ulladulla


The body of a man and his boat have been found washed ashore on the state’s South Coast.


Shortly after 6.30am yesterday (Wednesday 15 April 2020), police were called to Burrill Lake Beach, just south of Ulladulla, after the body of a man was found on the beach.


A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced by officers from South Coast Police District.


Police believe the 76-year-old man set out from Ulladulla Harbour in his boat about 5.30am yesterday (Wednesday 15 April 2020), before travelling south.


The man’s boat was found upside down on Burrill Lake Beach about 6.30am and has since been taken for forensic examination.


The man is not believed to have been wearing a life jacket.


A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
