Bingie Residents Association news

Bingie Residents Association (BRA) held their annual “Bash” at Mullimburra Point last weekend to celebrate another year of living in paradise. The young, the young at heart, old timers, recent arrivals, the permanents, the “one day we will move here’s” all turn up for a BBQ and share a plate. New comers introduce themselves, pass around the platters and are soon no longer strangers. Neighbours met neighbours for the first time whilst others rekindle connections lapsed since last year.

The “Bingie Bash” incorporated the AGM (got that over quick smart!) but not before acknowledging the hard work of retiring committee member, Geoff Scott. He has given more years than he cares to remember to the organization. As the resident expert on all things geology, Geoff will continue to conduct tours (with Marjorie and Phil) of the unique formations in the area. Keep an eye out for them. They really ‘rock’!

BRA has held regular social, environmental and educational activities (including Geoff’s rocking good Geology tours!) since its inception and was instrumental in the creation of the Bingi Dreaming Track, a popular walking track that goes from Congo all the way to Coila Lake. If you’ve never done it, you are missing something very special! Get out there now!

Continuing this fine tradition of celebrating all things Bingie, BRA has the following events coming up. Please join us!

5pm Tuesday 24th December

Santa will make a special appearance at the Bingi Fire Shed at 5pm on Christmas Eve

The Bingie RFS will be lighting the BBQ (and they have the equipment to put it out!) and providing snags. We think a gold coin donation would be a nice gesture!

Bring a plate to share, a chair, a glass and fill it with some Xmas Cheer.

All welcome.

10am Wednesday 8th Jan 2020

Shorebird Education session at 10am at Mullimburra Pt.

Held in conjunction with experts from Narooma National Parks & Wildlife Service this family friendly event will help you understand and identify our unique shore birds and how you can help protect them. There will be give-aways for the kids

Once again, all welcome – the more the merrier

And when Geoff, Marjorie and Phil are ready to ‘rock’ we’ll let you know!

If you’re interested in being involved in any of BRA activities or wish to join the email list please be in touch at

Above: Now how's that for a BBQ outlook ?
