Thanks to the generosity of the IMB Bank Community Foundation, SAGE received $20,000 in 2019 to run the SAGE Veggies for All Project.

“Our 27 September 2019 workshop at Kyla Park Hall had 25 enthusiastic participants, the vast majority from Tuross Head. It is the 4th workshop we have run at Tuross Head – a community committed to growing veggies. The Tuross Head Community Garden provided the most amazingly yummy lunch”, said Kathryn Maxwell, SAGE Veggies for All Coordinator.

Steve Ryder and Greg Campbell from the Tuross Head Men's Shed and Steve Smith from the Tuross Head Community Garden assisted SAGE with the hard work of installing another eight veggie beds at the Community Garden and backyards of Centrelink recipients around Tuross Head in October 2019. These guys powered through the job which also included installing a wicking bed at the Tuross Head Men's Garden.

Tuross Head Men's Shed currently has 60 members. Thursday morning is their social day with tea/coffee and snags, whilst on Thursday afternoon about a dozen members meet for the camera group/take out Friday afternoon with the table tennis as this has now finished. The Men's Shed is located down behind the Tuross Head Country Club. Please ring Steve Ryder on 0412 623 865 for more details.

Steve Smith, Coordinator of the Tuross Head Community Garden also assisted with his trailer (to collect soil) and with the installs. Four Centrelink recipients that attended the workshop donated their garden beds to the Tuross Head Community Garden.
