Bernadette Davis | Textile Artist | Virtual Open Studio

Bernadette Davis is an ocean lover, marine debris data nerd and longtime textile tinkerer.

"My work is a conscious effort to highlight threats to our oceans. I use ropes that have been discarded, lost and abandoned at sea to make vessels and lighting using both weaving techniques and crochet. "The shape and texture of each piece is dictated by the type of rope. I love to play with the colours and quantity of individual rope threads to see where it goes. It is hard to predict what each piece will look or feel like, that is the joy of my work. Several of Eurobodalla’s acclaimed artists including Bernadette Davis are video-featured on the River of Art’s website
