The last meeting of the Batemans Bay Evening View Club heard guest speaker, Captain Ian Aitken from the Batemans Bay Brigade of the NSW Rural Fire Service give an interesting and informative talk on Bush Fires and their character and Fire Readiness for the coming season.
Ian spoke about fires in our area and the character of a fire and that fires have memories. He then discussed how important it is for everyone to have a fire plan and know their fire plan not only for this coming fire season but for all year. Some great information for attendees to think about and then fire plan kits were given out for everyone to use.
The next meeting of the Batemans Bay Evening View Club will be held on Wednesday 11 September 2019 at the Catalina Country Club at 6.00 pm for 6.30 pm with a two course meal at a cost of $28.00.

VIEW stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women and supports the Smith Family and the Learning for Life Program and helping young Australians in need to get the most out of their education. The club was established in 1997 for women interested in meeting regularly with other women from all walks of life, providing them with an outlet to help others, as well as establishing lasting friendships and contributing to the community.
