A woman has been charged over the alleged theft of almost $15,000 dollars’ worth of items from local stores on the state’s South Coast.

Investigations began after officers attached to South Coast Police District received information a large quantity of items totalling $14,000 were being sold online.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Grantham Road, Batehaven, about 1pm Thursday 16 June 2022. During a search of the home, police allegedly located and seized several items suspected of being stolen.

A 58-year-old woman – who had been assisting police with their inquiries – has since been issued with a Court Attendance Notice for one count of goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle).

The Batehaven woman is due to appear in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 8 August 2022. Inquiries continue.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
