Araluen Road closed due rock fall late this afternoon, about 21 km from Moruya.

Residents advise it may take a few days to remove and to ensure the road is safe to use. Council have advised: A landslip occurred on Araluen Road at Knowles Creek late on Monday afternoon, 23 kilometres west of Moruya.

Eurobodalla Council crews were onsite quickly, however with rocks and debris still moving, they will return on Tuesday morning to assess options, including any opportunities to detour around the slip.  The road is currently impassable for residents living west of Knowles Creek. While Araluen Road has been closed to the general public since 23 October for bushfire and flood repairs, residents who live along the road have been able to access their properties and travel to and from Moruya.  Council will work as quickly as possible to safely re-open the road at Knowles Creek for resident access.
