An Awesome humpback encounter

Merimbula Marina posted an incredible video to their Facebook page on Saturday September 12th saying: "What a way to start the 2020 Merimbula Whale Watching Season! Today was a full sensory experience! We had the unforgettable experience of being surrounded by more than 100 feeding adult humpback whales! "The energy, the sounds, the smell and the visual of seeing so many whales was quite mind blowing. At times it was hard to know in which direction to look. It was phenomenal to see the whales working together, pec and tail slapping on the perimeter and then watching as the waters erupted with massive wide open mouths! It was truly a trip to remember. Thankyou to all onboard for sharing this memorable experience with us! After such an awesome start we can’t wait to see what the remainder of the season has in store for us! They then followed up the next day saying "After the highs of yesterday it was hard not to have high expectations for today! We needn't of worried as today was even better than yesterday with even more whales sighted feeding! Feeding events like this do not happen often and when they do they often leave us speechless! Again the raw energy was palpable and it was hard to know where to look. We are feeling very blessed to have been able to witness such an incredible natural wonder. Who knows how long they will stay on the Sapphire Coast but it is a timely reminder of how important it is to look after our oceans. They are home to so many wonderful and majestic animals. It was definitely another afternoon to remember!"
