There has been a recent increase in reports of motorbikes on the Mountain Bike (MTB) trails around the Deep Creek dam area.
The area is now under formal licence with the land managers as exclusively MTB use, which is a recent development that some moto riders might not appreciate.
Local riding group, Batemans Bay Mountain Bike Club, post "The vast majority of moto riders in our area do the right thing, and ride registered motors on proper gravel roads. Sadly a small number of people are still riding motos on single track, creating a very dangerous situation, and causing damage to the tracks".
"The most important thing is everyone’s safety, so if you see motorcyclists on the MTB trails please report it to the police. More reports will lead to an increased response. Please avoid escalation of an already dangerous situation into conflict or aggression. The land managers, the council and the local police are all aware of the situation and will take action against illegal moto use of trails".
