A “Thank You” From Surf Beach Rural Fire Brigade

Like other NSW rural fire brigades, Surf Beach Brigade is made up entirely of volunteers and relies significantly on the moral and financial support of our community. In our case that community encompasses Sunshine Bay, Denhams Beach, Surf Beach and areas westward toward the Princes Highway. We do, of course, assist nearby (or sometimes quite distant) communities when necessary.

As the weather begins to warm again in this fresh fire season, we would like to thank our community for their support over the course of this year. It has been a rather horrible year for most, beginning with firestorms on NYE / 1st of January and being compounded by Covid-related difficulties. Accordingly, we advise that we will not be conducting our usual Annual Appeal for funds this year.

We are well able to continue our roles for the time being and very much appreciate the generous support we have been given to date. Thank you!

Now would be a good time to prepare your property and update your fire plan. Meanwhile, please check your smoke alarms, drive safely and generally take care.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
