a few simple precautions

Writer's picture: The BeagleThe Beagle

Ahead of a weekend of expected wet weather, Eurobodalla Council is encouraging residents to take a few simple precautions around the home and on the roads:

  • Knock at least 10km/hr off your driving speed and drive to conditions

  • Put your vehicle lights on even when driving in the day time so others can see you

  • Do NOT drive, walk through or play in floodwaters

  • Check the drainage around your home, make sure your gutters are clean

  • Secure any loose materials around your home so the wind doesn’t throw them around

  • Check out the SES website Home | NSW State Emergency Service where there is lots of good information

Council’s water and sewer and works crews are ready for any flood responses and emergency call-outs. Residents can help by reporting local road hazards or flashing lights on sewage pump stations. Over the weekend, call Council’s after hours number 1800 755 760. During business hours, call Moruya Depot on 4474 1391.

For local road closures, check Council’s website at www.esc.nsw.gov.au

All Eurobodalla sportsgrounds are closed until further notice.

For storm or flood emergency at your place, call SES on 132 500.

As always, dial Triple Zero (000) in a life threatening situation or medical emergency.
