A busy few days on the water in Batemans Bay

Marine Rescue Batemans Bay report:

A busy few days on the water in Batemans Bay this weekend, with a total of 59 vessels logging on for their journey on the water. Two vessels called for assistance, at the start and the end of the day. Just before 0800, a 17' runabout with 4 people on-board called for assistance offshore from Broulee. BM30 departed, crewed by Michael Syrek, John Clement and Peter Poole, with communications support provided by David and Andrew Murn in the radio room. Due to tide conditions, it was decided to return the vessel to the Hanging Rock ramp, arriving just after 11am. This afternoon as boats were returning from their days fishing, a 20' cuddy-cabin vessel called for assistance in the middle of the bay. BM20 was dispatched this time, crewed by David Murn and Peter Johnson, with communications coverage provided by Peter Varkulevicius. The vessel was returned to the Hanging Rock ramp just on sunset.

During this time, we're all being asked to "Stay Safe, Stay Home". However if you do head out on the water, remember to always Log On and Log Off with Marine Rescue NSW on VHF Channel 16 or the free MarineRescue App so we can keep watch over you while you're on the water and provide faster assistance to you on the water, if you ever need it. In an emergency, you can call for help 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, on VHF Ch 16 or dial Triple Zero (000).
