Tuross Head Brigade members were active at 5:30am this morning cordoning off the remains of a beach fire near "Everest", the rocks that separate main beach from the caravan park beach. A spokesperson for the brigade said "The fire is in the middle of the path and from the volume of wood burnt, the sand will be incandescent to quite a depth, so a serious burns risk for at least 24 hours. It's beyond hose reach for our trucks. We also removed bottles and cans thrown into the fire. We can assume that there will be more in there, adding broken glass to the risk." " CAN WE SAY AGAIN THAT BEACH FIRES ARE NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE IN EUROBODALLA. IT SHOULDN'T NEED SAYING THAT EMPTY BOTTLES, CANS AND RUBBISH HAVE NO PLACE HERE".
