Moruya Red Door Car Boot Sale this Saturday Apr 13th

Red Door Community Lunch Car Boot Sale April 13th with the Slightly Bent Choir singing at 11am as a fund raiser. The car-boot sale, from 8am – 1pm, raises money to support the café on the corner of Campbell & Page St Moruya. Bring your car boot, no bookings required, or just come along to snag a sausage & a bargain. The Slightly Bent Choir, who sing before lunch each Tuesday at the Red Door, have to grown to over 25 singers. Slightly Bent are led by the fabulous Kim Edgar-Lane, who has been leading the choir from the very beginning. The Red Door is a place of inclusive hospitality of the heart and table. Every Tuesday the Red Door kitchen cooks up a storm for lunch. Open to all, the fresh, house cooked meals are offered at no cost or by donation if possible. The Red Door has been serving lunch weekly for 7 years and has become a place of true social inclusion with a warm and open-hearted spirit greeting all who come. When asking some of the people who come regularly for lunch what they find a common answer is, “very good meal, very good people (volunteers), generous, friendly’. One person said, “it’s amazing what they can do with what they have”. The café is kept going by a great bunch of volunteers from around the community. They are the heart and soul of the service. One of those volunteers, Ruth, says she loves it because of “the fun of preparing it together and then sharing it together in friendship.” Some of those who come for lunch are also part of The Slightly Bent’ choir who sing in the hall from 10.30 – 11.30am. The lunches, which consist of a main course and a dessert, are served every Tuesday from 12.00 noon to 1.30 pm. Everyone is welcome. The Red Door is the hall between St John’s Anglican Church and the Mechanics Institute off Page St in Moruya (St John’s Way).
