Come and Throw the Boot Again at the Tilba Easter Festival April 20th

It’s been a couple of years between Boot Throws but the Tilba Festival is back for 2019.

Held in the National Trust Village of Central Tilba since the mid-1980s, the Festival is a celebration of the heritage, local produce, musical talent and community of this area. Gates open on April 20th at 9.00am and locals and visitors alike will enjoy a full day of great food and entertainment, with something for all members of the family.

Entertainment starts early and includes three stages showcasing great local musicians, a dedicated area for kids and plenty of street performers. The Big Hall will feature informative demonstrations ranging from cookery skills to blacksmithing!

Remember to come hungry! The Festival features a huge range of food stalls offering everything from a classic hamburger, through gourmet home-made hot dogs, plenty of healthy organic food and a van serving a wide variety of truly scrumptious food with an indigenous twist.

As always, there is plenty of opportunity for crowd participation with the ever-popular Bushies Boot Throw, Great Cheddar Cheese Roll and the Terrific Egg Toss. There’s even something just for the kids with ‘Do-It-Without-Hands’ Donut Eating. Local businesses are offering lots of great prizes so make sure you join in the fun!

This year there is also the opportunity to win one of 3 major prizes of an accommodation package at one of our fabulous local B&B’s. To enter, just fill in one of the survey forms available when you enter or ask the lovely Footpath Fairies.

As usual, the main street of Central Tilba will be closed with the two dedicated parking areas serviced by an all-day free shuttle bus. Corkhill Drive will be restricted to only the shuttle bus, local residents and drivers with disabled stickers who will be able to drop off disabled passengers.

There will be parking spaces for disabled sticker vehicles in the Latimer Lane car park. Email us at festivaltilba@gmail.com if you are a self drive disabled person and we will make special arrangements. Central Tilba's main street will be closed all day on April 20, but we have comprehensive arrangements to get you comfortably to gate. We have a parking area available at the northern and southern end of Corkhill drive, with shuttle buses running between them and the main entrance. See the map below for details which are also available on our web site

Remember to bring cash with you as entry is by cash payment only (unless you have prepurchased a ticket online). There are no ATM facilities available on the day and only limited cash out options.
