Tuross Head golfers play in Irish 4 Ball compeition.


Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf 4 Ball Best Ball team competition resulted in a win for Dave Gray, Reg Apps, Robert McDonell and Graeme Bell. Played in conjunction with an individual single stableford round the group returned an excellent score of 89 points.

Ross Hendy was the winner of the stableford competition with a high 41 stableford points with Reginald Apps filling second placing. Allen Gannon, Colin Houghton and Paul Pereira won the remaining vouchers with all players scoring 36 points.

Nearest the pins were won by;

A grade golfer Colin Houghton on the 4th hole with 8.95 m.

Colin was also closest on the 6th with 2,57 m.

Marty Booth was best on the 7th hole with 2.06 m.

B grade player Russell Taylor was awarded the 4th hole 3.2 m and

Bruce Handley the 6th with a very close 35 centimetres.

Best of the C grade golfers was Herb Muriwai on the 4th with 2.3 m and

he also won the 6th hole with 1.80 m.

The coming Saturday competition is a 6X6X6 stableford event.

Thursday’s medley stableford competition was won by Bruce Lidbury with 41 points ahead of

Colin Houghton on 38 points.

Greg Smith and and Steve Johnston both finished with 37 points.

Nearest the pins were won by Bruce Lidbury, Brad Doolan and Leonie Snodgrass.
