Australian War Memorial book gifted to Tuross Head community

Committee and members of the Tuross Head Fishing Club were pleased to accept a generous gift made by Ann Sudmalis, Member for Gilmore by way of the Australian War Memorial - 'Treasures from a Century of Collection'. The Tuross Head Fishing Club has had a long history in assisting the Tuross Head Country Club on Anzac Day and have a number of members who are returned serviceman/women. As volunteers the fishing club have always offered to assist/cook at the Anzac Day breakfast for those who rise early for the dawn service in Tuross Memorial Gardens and then gather at the Country Club to enjoy the breakfast and respectively acknowledge the day! The Tuross Head community and the Tuross Head Fishing Club returned service personnel then attend a service later in the day, with military aircraft flying overhead, to place their traditional wreath of respect with other groups within the community. Max Castle of the Fishing club received the book on behalf of the Fishing Club and the Tuross Head community saying "Thank you Ms Sudmalis. I am sure the Fishing Club will have this book on display on Anzac Day for all to see!"
