The Beagle Editor,
I contacted Coles two weeks ago as their fuel price for E10 was $1.45 per litre. They emailed back advising if I spent $130 in store I could get 10c off per litre. I respectfully declined as E10 in Mogo was $1.21. Unleaded in Benandarah was $1.27 and Tomakin $1.31. Let alone Industrial Replacements and Batehaven. I responded saying I would fill up at Coles again, once they got the buying power to compete with small 'mom and pop operations'
They nicely replied that this was due to market fluctuations and cycles that would soon correct themselves and they always strive to be competitive. But let's face it, Coles has been consistently the most expensive fuel provider for years in Batemans Bay and pretty much everywhere else!
The fuel cycle has now changed and Coles are now only $1.39 for E10! Mogo is at $1.14!

I think we should be supporting the locals who are offering good prices regardless, rather that the supermarkets that are charging a huge premium with the promise of discounts if we spend so much in store? As they are charging 25c per litre more than another outlet, I personally feel locals should avoid them until they come to their senses!
