Tuross Head golfers celebrate Australia Day


Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf held a stableford competition on Australia Day resulted with Adam Husband emerging as the winner with an excellent score of 43 stableford points.

Adam was closely followed by Peter Hogan who had a good round of 42 points.

Graeme Bell and Michael Kermode 38 both scored points and Michael Allen with 37 points featured in the award presentation.

Herb Muriwai and Michael Allen won the stableford multiplier competition held in conjunction with the single stableford event.

The coming Saturday event is the monthly medal stroke round.

Nearest the pins:

A grade golfer Steve Walker was closest on the 4th hole with 5..2 m.

Ian Lawson won the 6th with 3.83 m and

Lachlan Nordsvan was best on the 7th with 2.15 m.

B grade best on the 4th hole was Andrew Gordon with 5.78

Peter Nikolic was awarded the 6th with 1.35 m and

Greg Smith won the 7th hole with 11.1 m.

Steve Hodge was the winner on the 4th hole with 2.16 m and Mike Allen was closet on the 6th with 1.7 m.

Thursday’s medley stableford competition was won by Ian Miller with 43 points ahead of Michael Nordsvan 41, Graham Moore 39 and Allen Gannon 37 points.

Closest to the pins were Brad Doolan on the 4th, George Studham won the 6th and Brad Doolan also picked up the award for the 7th hole.
