Work resumes on the Tomakin roundabout

Work to complete the Tomakin Road and George Bass roundabout resumes this month.

From 10am Tuesday 29 January, Council will begin constructing the concrete islands and widening the shoulders leading to the roundabout. Work will also include restoring the site.

The four-leg roundabout replaced the Tomakin Road and George Bass intersection and provides direct access to Sunpatch Parade.

Work is expected to finish by the end of March, bringing the $3.5 million project to improve road and pedestrian safety and increase traffic efficiency to a close.

Motorists should expect delays and allow extra time to travel through the area.

Council appreciates the community’s patience during the work and encourages motorists to follow directions of traffic controllers and obey the 40km/h speed limit.

The $3.5 million project is funded by the Australian Government’s Building Our Future Program.
