Low scoring 4 Person Ambrose golf competition at Tuross Head


The Tuross Head Country Club men's golf held a 4 Person Ambrose event this week and the winners to emerge, from this hotly competed competition, were Tim Watson, Adam Wilson, Stephen Hodge and Peter Nikolic with a nett score of 52.50 strokes after a low, off the stick, round of 62 strokes. Greg Smith, Rick Smith, Rodney Wannell and Rob Josifovski with 57.62 strokes filled second placing. Third spot went to Bruce Brawn, Russell Taylor, John Eglitis and Lawrence Kelly with 57.88 strokes and Al Gannon, Colin Houghton, Marty Booth and Shannon Elder won the fourth placing. John Sands had the satisfaction of scoring a hole in one on the 4th hole during the day. Nearest the pins were won by A grade golfer: Tim Watson on the 4th hole with 2.64 m. Colin Houghton was best on the 6th with 3.07 m and Shannon Elder closest on the 7th with 3.2 m. B grade player Bruce Lidbury was best on the 4th hole with 1.49 m. John Phyland won the 6th with 1.00 m and Ian Manton the 7th with 10.5 m. A hole in one on the 4th hole ensured John Sands was the absolute winner on this green. Peter Johnston was closest on the 6th with 1.00 m and Rob Josifovski won the 7th with 7.95 m. Next weeks round will be the monthly stroke and putt medal round.
