Low Scores Win the Day at Tuross

With the threat of morning showers looming a smaller than normal field of 39 players registered on December 19th for the final Vets game of 2018, a Stroke and Putts event. Fortunately the rain held off throughout and a number of good scores were recorded.

Winner on the day was Paul Green with a nett 27 strokes, followed by Stephen Crossling beating home Neal Watson on count back on 28. Greg Thornton finished with 29. Balls or chocolates were won by Steve Johnston on 31, Paul Pereira on 32, Noel Downie on 33, Chris Wratten and Jennifer Gray on 34, and finally Bruce Ware and Alan McLeod on 35. Stephen Johnston had the putter working well to record only 12 putts for the nine holes. The Bradman award went to Jeanette Miller, a far cry from being a winning team member last week.

Nearest the Pins were won by Greg Smith on the 4th, Bruce Martin on the 6th, and Kay McLeod and Peter McRae on the 7th. Wal Williams won the Accuracy award."
