The Quarterdeck Narooma presents: Soma and Band

The Quarterdeck Narooma presents: Soma and Band Saturday, 22 December 2018 from 06:30-09:30 An enchanting spell of smoky, soulful vocals, playful melodies and a woozy RnB undercurrent, Soma Sutton is quickly carving out her own niche in the Sydney live music scene. Soma is no stranger to the writing and recording process having collaborated not only onstage, but in the studio with many of her contemporaries over the past several months. Ever the shape-shifter, Soma takes us on a sonic rollercoaster ride through her imagination with her music. From mellow, acoustic lows, to dizzying electronic heights. Her hit single 'Bloom' is indicative of an artist who has unearthed their own unique sound, and have only just begun to excavate it. Loaded with motifs of nature and the human condition, Soma’s music is every part as bohemian as their creator. Filling the soundscape with hefty doses of tone and mood, one doesn’t simply listen to Bloom (nor it’s brothers and sisters on the forthcoming EP), you experience it. Outside the studio, Soma’s profile continues to grow. Cutting her teeth in the clubs, bars and venues around Sydney, her live performance has become the stuff of local legend. Soma stunned an intimate audience at Paddington’s Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore during the first ever performance at the venue’s downstairs library and unfurled her neo-soul magic at The Basement’s Martini Lounge burlesque party.
