Fresh worms and live yabbies have been working great for bait. Surface lures like the Jackson Pygmy poppers are also working well.Flathead are being caught up around the hospital. Targeting the drop off to the channel using Daiwa double clutch 75mm has produced some nice fish. Tuross River Good size bream are being pulled out of the oyster leases throughout the system at the moment. Atomic 38 mid hard bodies and Jackson pygmy poppers are working great.Plenty of flathead are being caught around the sand flats towards the front of the system using soft plastics like the Squidgie fish and Gulp 4 inch pulse worm. Live poddy mullet have also produced a couple of big girls this week.Potato Point flats are holding schools of whiting. Bassday Sugapens are working best but fresh beach worms and live yabbies are also catching a few. Rocks and Beaches The beaches are fishing reasonably well at the moment and a variety of species are being caught. Good size whiting and bream have been biting on beach worms up and down the coast. Some nice size salmon are also coming in off the beach. Most anglers have been using pillies for bait but Arma metal slices are also working well on the salmon. Reports of several squid being caught this week off the rocks at South Broulee and South Heads using the Yamashita range of warm jacket jigs Offshore If the weather is favourable and you make it out over the weekend the reefs just of Moruya should produce snapper, pigfish and mowies. Around the edges of the reefs has seen some sizable flathead caught in prior weeks. Kingfish have also been hanging around in the week prior and would definitely be worth targeting. Don’t forget the TackleWorld Christmas catalogue out now – be sure to get in and grab a bargain before they are all gone!

Tight lines my friends and remember “every day’s a good day for fishing … “
